Sefer Shakhynah

WELCOME!

Welcome to the official Web site of the Temple of Alhym, the Mother Assembly of Jerusalem. If you are looking for the Patriarchate of Jerusalem's Web site, click here for the pages of the diplomatic missions site.

The religion of the Temple of Alhym, Eastern in origin, has survived as an independent religious body since ancient times when our Prophet Abraham left Yanduah and when Mosha was given the Holy Decrees for the Nation of Yisrael. Our religion is monotheistic and we have our own Holy Book known as the Sefer Shakhynah written in ancient Hebrew, which predates the common Jewish and Christian Bible texts. Some of our sacred writings date back to the time of Abraham, while others are written in Sanskrit and Pali from Yanduah and Burma, dated between 500 and 250 BCE. Our religion has survived being silenced by major world religions and has survived extreme persecution by her enemies.

Our religion is independent, having a self-ruling hierarchy. Since the Temple has several assemblies within her jurisdiction which express their faith within different cultures, some of our members refer to to themselves as "B'nai Alhym" (Sons of God), "Nasraya Yeshuanim" ("Essene Followers of Yeshua the Messiah"), or simply as "Essene Khasidim".

The Temple traces its origins back to Yanduah, Mount Sinai and to the Holy City of Jerusalem, being the Ancient Assembly that continues to this day to preserve the Holy Teachings and rich heritage of its ancient Patriarchs. The Temple is the Apostolic and Historical Throne of Mar Ya'aqub ha'Tzadik established in 33 CE. Essenes, remaining faithful to the command of Alhym and to the teaching and practice of the Early Assembly, has maintained its Apostolic Succession throughout the trials and tribulations of its history. Our Rosh Avkadmon (Patriarch) is the Apostolic Successor of +Mar Ya'aqub ha'Tzadik, and our Sanhedrin celebrates an unbroken line of succession beginning with Mar Moshah and Mar Aharon.

Soon after the death of Yahashuah, many of His family members, known as Shemishqo, left the Holy City and went to Persia and into Rekem-Kadesh (what is known today as "Petra"). Around 40 C.E. the various stone structures of Rekem-Kadesh were redidicated and proclaimed as the Temple of Alhym by the Beit Knushta (Sanhedrin). Part of Rekem-Kadesh is still used as the Temple by our High Priest on certain major Holy Days.

The Temple and its affiliated assemblies continue to propagate and guard the Ancient Israelite Orthodox Faith of Yahashuah ha'Mashyakh and His Apostles.

The Temple of Alhym and its assemblies are not associated with any so-called "Christian", "Messianic" or "N'tzarim" restorationist movements and is independent and not in communion with any denomination. Neither does the Temple seek communion with any religious organisation outside its own sacred walls.

Do orthodox Essenes believe that they alone have salvation?
